Couples, Family & Individual Therapy in North York, Toronto
Uliyana Markova, Registered Psychotherapist
I am a Registered Psychotherapist in private practice, offering in person and online therapy for individuals, couples, and families. I bring 15 years of clinical experience and training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
Therapy offers an opportunity to step out of familiar patterns and look more closely at ourselves, our relationships, and the experiences that have shaped us. My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in curiosity. Rather than focusing only on symptoms or quick solutions, we explore the deeper emotional and relational dynamics that may be keeping you stuck.
Couples learn to understand the patterns that lead to distance, conflict, and misunderstanding. They develop new ways of expressing emotions, needs, and desires, creating greater trust, openness, and connection. Families can address long standing hurts, improve communication, and find ways of being more present and engaged with one another. Individual therapy provides space to reflect, grow, and reconnect with aspects of yourself that may have been lost, silenced, or overlooked. Together, we work toward greater clarity, authenticity, and a fuller experience of life.
Relationship difficulties, communication breakdowns, and loss of connection with ourselves and others can be understood and transformed through meaningful therapeutic work.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is a space to understand and improve your relationship with yourself. When we are not internally aligned, this can manifest into anxiety, depression, anger, confusion and difficulty functioning. Life and career transitions, relationship difficulties, and losses sometimes open the gate to unprocessed past experiences that still have a hold on us. With individuals, I listen deeply and allow the fuller picture to unfold. Learn More…
